YOU’RE INVITED! DOWNTOWN WATERFRONT SITE DESIGN WORKSHOP- April 9, 2016

Please join us for a Design Workshop for Sanford’s downtown waterfront vacant property on April 9th from12:00PM to 6:00PM at the Sanford Civic Center, 401 East Seminole Boulevard in downtown Sanford.

The Purpose:  The purpose of the Design Workshop is to receive input and comments from residents and local businesses that will be used in the design of new public spaces, improved streets and the future buildings that will be developed on the City-owned vacant land on Sanford’s downtown waterfront.

The Process:  The Workshop will include a review of the existing physical and economic conditions affecting downtown Sanford and the downtown waterfront site.  Potential development scenarios will be examined and an open discussion about each potential scenario and how it may affect the community will be held.  Workshop participants will be asked to provide their opinions about what they would like to “see” and “do” in downtown Sanford.  The Design Team will prepare preliminary design concepts that will address the items that were identified by the workshop participants.  Community priorities identified at this Design Workshop will be used to guide the overall development program for the construction that will occur on the downtown waterfront site.

Your input and participation is very important and will help guide the future development of downtown Sanford.

The Workshop will have three phases:
