Women demonstrated their advanced aviation skills during the 2015 Air Race Classic

Women from around the country, including two pilots from Aerosim Flight Academy, demonstrated their advanced aviation skills during the 2015 Air Race Classic (ARC) June 22-25. Taking off from Fredericksburg, Virginia, women ranging in age from 14-85 competed on a 2,100 nautical-mile course through ten states concluding in Fairhope, Alabama.

Led by Aerosim Instructor and Learning Resource Center Coordinator Lauren Thompson, who completed her fourth appearance in the Air Race Classic, the Aerosim team also included student Kelsey Brown who made her competition debut as co-pilot.

Although Team Aerosim did not win the competition, the women completed the course safely, navigated bad weather and set an outstanding example for future female aviators.

Aerosim Flight Academy also provided equipment support services for Jacksonville University School of Aviation and their dedicated Air Race Classic team.
