Press Release - Sanford Utility Department Director Receives Anthony Leffin Lifetime Achievement Award

Sanford Utility Department Director Receives
Anthony Leffin Lifetime Achievement Award

At last week’s Annual Florida Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA) Conference, Paul Moore, Director, Utility Department, City of Sanford, was awarded the Anthony Leffin Lifetime Achievement Award.

This award recognizes the outstanding career, service and achievements of an individual in the public works profession.  The focus of the award is on career service rather than on any one single event or project.

“It was an extra special honor to receive this award because I knew Tony Leffin.  He was a long time Public Works Director for the City of Maitland, FL.  He was an outstanding person and a dedicated public servant who left us way too soon.  I have been blessed to work for the City of Sanford for a long time and with such a great group of dedicated employees.  Employees in the Utility and Public Works Departments are dedicated, hardworking people. I feel that this award is a group effort and I thank them all,” said Paul Moore.

“Mr. Moore is a leader in his profession. Getting this kind of recognition from one’s peers is very impressive, and a wonderful achievement. The City of Sanford is fortunate to have him as part of our team,” said Norton Bonaparte, City Manager.
