Orlando Sanford Announces New Surinam Airways Flights

to Georgetown, Guyana and Paramaribo, Suriname

Sanford, FL, May 6, 2015 – Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) and Surinam

Airways announce scheduled service beginning July 2 between SFB and Cheddi Jagan International

Airport (GEO) in Georgetown, Guyana with continuing service to Johan Adolf Pengel International

Airport (PBM) in Paramaribo, Suriname.

The service will initially operate seasonally with weekly flights from July through September

with a Thursday afternoon arrival into SFB at 3:35 PM and a Friday afternoon departure from SFB at

1:30 PM. Surinam Airways will use a 737-300 aircraft with 126 seats (8 Business Class and 118

According to Larry Dale, President of Orlando Sanford International Airport, the Airport

enthusiastically welcomes Surinam Airways’ new service to South America, “We anticipate a

tremendous amount of local interest in Surinam’s outbound flights to Guyana and Suriname.”
